It's a great after-skateboarding shoe!

Need a casual shoe that still looks good with business casual dress. Love the color combo, fit, and comfort.

I’ve had these black Escape sneakers for a month now and LOOOVE them. Comfortable and the co struction is excellent. I need the blue pair now! And the people at Ridgemont take customer service very seriously. Buy a pair or two and feel the love!

Let me start off, the shoe looks great! However, the toe box is small and uncomfortable. The sole is and materials used are not ready for anything more than a casual walk down a city sidewalk. Anything more than a few hours, the shoe isn't very comfortable. I had hoped for an everyday shoe and was disappointed. For the price and description, I would expect a more robust shoe and unfortunately, I would not recommend.

I put them on and loved how lite they felt on my feet. Perfect for chillin!!!

Bought these for trip instead of wearing my clunky running shoes. Great fit and nice casual style. Pretty much goes with anything. First time buyer. Will return again.

Great fit! Lightweight and look great with jeans. Lot’s of compliments on them.

Really comfortable shoe however the sizing is different to an expected. I normally wear a 12.5 but these were 13s and still too small. 14s not available in that color and style.
Good price too and seem to be well made. Unfortunately sizing didn’t match up with other brands like Oboz or Keen.

Comfortable and sturdy construction. I have higher arches so i may use an insert. Overall a good product. Nice looking. I would say as advertised.

I was looking at the shoes online for months, and I finally bought them. What a great choice! They’re super comfortable and look great!

The shoe good. However, it’s not as solid as advertised. The toe box is way too narrow and the shoes material doesn’t give the support needed for anything more than a casual walk down the sidewalk. I will not recommend for anyone who wants to use it on trails. I wanted to like them but they missed the mark for how they advertised the shoe.

Solid construction. This is my second pair. The trend wore down. Wish they could re-soul my old pair

Durability… after one week of light use, the toe rubber is starting to delaminate. Easily fixable, but I shouldn’t have to fix new shoes.

The sizing is perfect and they were immediately comfortable.

These remind me of an old pair of Patagonia shoes I had. Well made, look good and comfortable.

I’d give it 4.5 stars if it was possible to give half stars. I wanted to take one pair of shoes on a two week trip to Europe. One that could withstand the elements. Would be comfortable after 20K steps/day. Could look good with shorts or dressed slightly up with pants for a night out. This shoe fits the bill. The only thing missing that would earn it 5 stars is if it had elastic bands that held the tongue in place or a “sock liner” fit to the shoe (tongue integrated into the shoe).

I purchased the Escape three weeks ago. I realized I needed 1/2 size larger so I followed the directions on the company website to initiate an exchange. After sending two emails and leaving two voice mails I still have received no response from customer service. The website states customer service will respond within 24 hours. I'm very disappointed with customer service and looks like I'm stuck with shoes that are too small. I hope a customer service representative will read this post and reach out to me.

Great shoes! Fit is good, comfortable and I like the style and color. Delivered as promised, no order or shipping issues. Opened the box, laced them up, been wearing them almost every day since and no complaints.

Just what I was looking for. A shoe that pairs well with casual attire and is comfy / durable enough to walk about on casual trails here in the PNW versus my usual footwear (low cut vans or etnies). Definitely my go to pair of shoes since I got them and will absolutely get another down the line when these start to wear. Hopefully it’ll be awhile!

I love these shoes. They are light, quality made and have an earthy look to them. However I must say I was a little disappointed when literally the week after I ordered them you all were giving away a free pair of socks with a shoe purchase after I had just bought my shoes and pair of socks. I’ll still think about getting a new pair of these shoes as long as you still have them and the time comes that I am looking again.

Great shoes. However, I tried to return my first pair. The return team is not in America and it shows. They waited several days to respond to my email.

Exactly what I was hoping they’d be from the pictures! Order 10.5 and my true size 11 cuz I was unsure on sizing, but turns out they were spot on! Super comfortable!

I'm a refugee from Merrell. I wore the original Merrell Alpine for years until they replaced it with the Recraft, which fell apart in less than a month of wearing it around the house. I've been hunting for a real retro sneaker for almost 4 years - and the Escape is it. So glad there's finally a proper alternative out there.

Comfortable from the first wear, no break-in. Real materials (oiled suede and ripstop nylon, not recycled textile), and the construction is tight in all the places the new Merrells aren't. Stitching is clean, the sole is properly bonded, the eyelets are reinforced. Looks better too! Slim retro silhouette, subtle branding, just enough tooth on the outsole to read as outdoorsy without going full hiking boot. I've already bought two pairs.

One request: Ridgemont, please do a moss green colorway. Take my money.

These are the shoe the Alpine should have stayed. Thanks Ridgemont for stepping up and finally making a quality retro outdoor sneaker.

Out of the box, I am very pleased on how well these shoes are made and look. I have tried them on and size was accurate and wide enough for comfort ( I have a standard foot width). I was pleasantly surprised at how the forefoot was nice and flexible. I haven't had a chance to wear them on my hikes yet but can almost guaranty they will be my go to for many years to come!
