There’s no question that we’re big fans of the classic alpine hiker styles which inspired the Heritage, but if we’re honest, the Heritage is really a celebration of beautiful, buttery, aniline-dyed leather. Since this style is made primarily from one big piece of material, there’s no visual chaos to hide behind. The leather takes center stage, and man, what a piece of leather. 2.2mm worth of grade A, full grain, high oil content leather. This is the stuff that looks better each time you wear it. These boots will keep a record of your adventures in their creases and scratches, the patina building over time. Due to its high oil content, it has a lot of water resistance built in, but to keep you completely dry, we offer this shoe with a waterproof liner as well. Don’t let the robust look fool you, though, this is an everyday, light hiker, not a super-stiff mountaineering shoe. We’ve added just enough rigidity to keep you going over rough terrain without sacrificing walkability. That beautiful leather upper is mated to our light weight and super comfy half-cup EVA outsole with mild lugging and super grippy rubber tread. This is my 4th pair of shoes from Ridgemont and like the others, a solidly made, comfortable boot that looks as good on main street as it does on the trail. I would happily recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a solid pair of shoes.
I bought in 2019. Still fully waterproof. And I mean fully. So warm and comfy. I have frost bite damage on my feet from a decade ago, so my feet are very sensitive to cold. And these boots keep my feet warm and dry.

Ridgemont Shoes are made from leathers and materials that stretch. Our shoes are meant to be snug at first but will ‘break in’ after a few uses, becoming the most comfortable shoes you’ll ever own!

Ridgemont shoes are True to size. If you wear a size 9, you should order a size 9. If they don’t fit, exchange them for a new size with free return shipping.
