This is my 5th outback shoe I use these styles for work, bikeriding, hiking, or just out and about. Fits comfy I use a shoe strecher to break in.
I bought in 2019. Still fully waterproof. And I mean fully. So warm and comfy. I have frost bite damage on my feet from a decade ago, so my feet are very sensitive to cold. And these boots keep my feet warm and dry.
My 2019 are in perfect condition. They are so good, I wan't to order an extra pair. Please let me know when 9.5 are back in stock
I’ve been looking for a long time for an approach type shoe that didn’t have the brand name in large font, all over the shoe and finally found them! Also a color way that I really liked and the Monty Lo’s fit that bill. These shoes are very comfortable, though I have only worn them around town, no hiking yet so I can’t give an honest review of them for their intended purpose but I’m really impressed with their construction so far. I will not use these for hikes to be honest, just kicking around camp and town so I hope they last awhile. Some of the reviews on these shoes lack of quality made me nervous to buy them but again, I couldn’t find a color way I liked from any other brand and the price point for the Monty Lo’s was right in my range so I hope these last. I ordered a size big(10 and I normally wear 9.5) and the fit is great!
I'm a shoe guy and have many various types of boots and shoes for various purposes. I purchased the Outback II's as a hybrid of a hiking boot and an everyday shoe. They aren't flashy(I like that), fairly simple in design, but functional as a daily wearer. The hunter orange on the inside of the Black/Chocolate model is a nice touch. They advise to go a half size up, and I'm glad that they do. Gives you a little wiggle room for when I wear thicker socks in the colder months, without creating hot spots or rubbing while wearing thinner socks. While I don't like the high-top look when wearing shorts, I will most likely be purchasing Monty Lo's to help fill that void, sometime soon. All in all, great shoes, great look, great feel. I've already received a fair amount of positive comments on them. Treat yo self, you deserve it.

Incredibly comfortable, versatile, and tough. Monty Los are THE shoe for any hiking trail, any mountain approach, any scramble up to a rock climbing cliff. I love them!
I bought this (my first) pair of Ridgemont’s days before heading to Joshua Tree for a few days. We planned out multiple hikes and stayed at a campground with 5 kids, traversing all over the rocks and uneven terrain. I was nervous about having to break them in on our trip, and also trusting the manufacturers advice to buy a half size bigger. From the moment I put them on and laced em up, I didn’t think about my feet once. The only time I was reminded that I was wearing new boots was catching a glance at the fresh color scheme and remembering. Other than that, after a full day of being on my feet, moving around, climbing and hiking, my feet felt great. I am super impressed and will definitely be a return customer.
