Adventures With Ridgemont Hikers
This is my 3rd pair of Ridgemonts Monty Lo.
Their style wears with almost everything, work clothes, going out, walking the dog..I am a convert.
For comfortable and shower proof walking-hiking-trainer-cum-shoe, while they are available you'd be a fool to overlook them.
The pair in the image I uploaded are nearly 12 months old, and I wear them everyday.
Comfortable shoe, seems waterproof.
The stitching at the back of the shoe came loose after only a short time, and not many miles of walking
I almost never buy shoes online but the Monty Lo looked so good, I took a chance. Unfortunately, the shoe is not a true size US 14 and is also too narrow. As a result, they have been sitting in their box since the day they arrived.
I really love the look of them, but the quality of the heel and sole are really bad. The heel part started buckling after less than 6 months, and needed to be reinforced at the shoe shop. The material on the sole of the shoe is very 'plasticy' and does not have a great grip on anything other that concrete. I slip around quite a lot in these shoes. However, they look great, so I'm betting they rely on aesthetics rather than quality. Its a real shame though, as they could easily do both with a few changes.
